- The first album from Showtek (2007) was proper hardstyle, they always did their own thing, and they still do.

Yeah aren't they great? NOT

dude nustyle was not created in 2007 u numbnut, i want to know who you think created it and it definantly wasnt hhz or dbstf because those two came into the scene in 2006/2007

I don't think you know what is nu-style.

People nowadays tend to think that the correct order is: early hardstyle, and after that came nustyle and nothing else. People don't know the definition of nustyle.

there's no such thing as early hardstyle for me, maybe you can call 'early hardstyle' the old hard-tranceish stuff from Fatefull Bass, Bit Ein Bitte, Audio Attack Records or Kai Tracid, Scot Project pre-2003 stuff. After that, there's only hardstyle for me.
Btw, I think I gave a good definition of what is nu-style, and its totally separated with the definition of a hardstyle sound.

Not saying that I like their new stuff, I totally hate it tbh, but I give them kudos because they always had their own style (not really nowadays but well) and it was still hardstyle back then.

@ Stevie: I heard those before and have them on my iPod, THAT is bangin
@ Hostage: They do produce, but not much at all, if they even do produce anymore. And when they released tracks, they were :thumbsup2:
@ The only other American on this site: Actually, HHZ has been producing and shit since 2005, when he was still with Bobby in the group, and it was called Nasty D-Tuners. HHZ and Scantraxx created the brand of Nustyle that's most popular and looked down upon, but I'll admit, not all of it i bad. I really like The Prophet - Morphed when he played it at Qountdown.
Luna and Pila definitely do not belong on this list, they've both been around for a while, and they don't produce music really. Luna is versatile in his sets, and Pila has always been true to Hardstyle, I never heard him really play the nustyle we hear today. In fact, he's rarely active anymore, methinks.

Soul-T? never thought i would ever hear a name like that pop up here on lsdb.
Well, Brendan 'Soul-T' has been running the famous PHD party here in Melbourne for the last 8 years or so and has recently decided to step forward with his productions. He has made various collaberations with other AUS hardstyle dj's like Karpe DM, hardforze , etc.

Hard-Dance is slowly dying i must say down here in Australia :(

Oh and Pila now lives in Melbourne too for anyone wondering

there is one answer to the topic question

The Prophet

for me, it was when he played "Scantraxx Rootz" and "The Sacrifice" at DQ1 2006. they certainly stood out as something different compared to the rest of the hardstyle in that set. from then on, he got HHz, WDz and DBSTF to Scantraxx and the rest is history.

also JosH & Wesz - Rock It was a very important track imo that saw a shift away from the traditional rev bass type of hardstyle.

i think this is the only way to describe the foundation of nustyle. everyone else followed after that since they had no choice.

and LOL at people saying Zany started nu-style. he didnt make any nustyle himself (or with Michel) until "The Anthem" came out in late 2008! NC had 2 releases in 2007 but HHZ made more of an impact in 2006. It wasnt until late 2007 that NC Made an impact on the scene

thank you for reading :)
