Liveset discussion / Which DJ made nu-style popular?

humanthps -
i am a fan of oldschool and early hardstyle (2002-2005) and i cannot stand nu-style. which dj brought nu-style and made it popular? you choose.

i say zany.. his 2004 sets were bringing alot of melody to the table and i think people started using it alot more.

Your going to get a lot of shite for this topic mate..but, Q-dance and scanntraxx are the culprits. Q-dance hold the major events, so if you don't play what they want, your fucked and don't get to the big events.

Headhunterz, wildtylez etc etc made it worse an so on

But it really does not matter

No Hostages
Headhunterz & DBSTF

im talking about djs that STARTED it... not DJs that play for q-dance now like noisecontrollers and headhunterz... they came into the scene in 2006/2007 and they were already playing nu-style then

nah, nu style came around 2007/08 mate, and still it's Q-dances fault not the Djs

do u understand what im talking about... nu-style is melody and kick, it didnt start in 2007 there were djs like zany before that, that started the roots of it with alot of melody. go listen to his 2004 set and compare it to any qlimax 2003 set, you will see what i mean

U mean before nu style hardstyle have no melodies? :')
Check Luke Spellbound, Daniele Mondello and some other tracks :) Some early have worst melodies than NU ;]

no, what i am saying is that nustyle is mostly melody and zany had alot of songs with it in 2004/2005... which is why im saying he basically brought the roots of nu-style.

I get what your saying, but i just disagree, Zany did not start nu style in my opinion

Nustyle, Tok'd kicks, pitched basslines, focus on melody and fuck off long breaks

Early Somewhat less melody, harder kicks, and reverse basslines

that the diff =]
