The pro amatuer discussion is a tiring one cause there is a question mark to a lot of dj's status. But for most I think its quite easy. If the dj is well renound and makes a living from music then he's pro, if its a club dj that plays within his own city or surrounding area and doesn't have much else on the C.V in terms of producing dj-ing then its amatuer.

I disagree with that, I would say if you play in clubs and entertain people and are booked for established nights that make money from ticket sales, have a following etc then you would be classed as professional. An amateur to me would be a bedroom dj who hasnt been booked to play out yet. If by the standards that are set by this website for being a professional were correct that would class dj's such as DJ Tone, Mark Doc, Sam Jones, Rob Da Rhythm and others (these are the first people popping into my head) would be classed as amateurs, even though they have played at huge events because they havent produced a lot of tracks and some (if not all) dont make a living from their music, but all would be classed as big dj's (in the uk anyway).
