Drinking vodka in Poland is a bit more complex, and to put it simply, it has its roots dating back a few centuries, starting with the Swedish Deluge (they wiped out almost half of our population!!!), then the fight for independence—which is partly where Chopin's talent came from, then World War I and World War II, then communism. It's hard not to become a generational (generational trauma) Pole after something like that.
