Schranz has got more perscussion and rolling bass. Its the only difference I can really tell to be honest, but aye, it is really similar.

As far as ive been told the only real diffrence betwen schranz and Hard techno is that schranz has a distorted kick drum and has darker elements to it (also faster but dont have to be). Schranz to me is just dark hard techno.

Schranz tunes i have a very very short supply of, enjoyed mixing it though so ive went on a Schranz hunt. I was a little disappointed with the quality of schranz tracks too but i did say i was gonna play some. :W
