Hatcha & Coki
DMZ, Special Branch, London
London’s forefathers of dubstep, Hatcha and Coki, pedal out a storming back-to-back set on a not-so-timid Wednesday night session at The Den. Sin City and DMZ crew godfathers back to back. Few single DJs have had as much influence on the course of dubstep as Croydon’s Hatcha. Starting out at Big Apple Records, and mixing the first Dubstep Allstars comp, and hosting a show on Kiss FM, and starting Sin City Records, the sound of London’s bass music wouldn’t be the same without him. Coki is an equal match in that regard, shaping the rough and righteous sound of DMZ alongside longtime friend and cohort Mala. Together, Hatcha and Coki are doing their bit to tear up the sub-bass and threaten low frequencies, of course. On the mic is long-time grime MC and Rinse FM favourite, P Money, wreaking a little havoc. All this, recorded live at Some Night’s first birthday in London.
Can't even listen to it, makes my ears bleed !
