Holy shit... 10 YEARS OF T-GO! And what a journey it has been so far... I’ll try to keep it short
November 22, 2014... Exactly 10 years ago, I had my very first DJ lesson. And so much has happened in those 10 years...
At the age of 7, I often saw my dad DJing, and I wanted to learn it too. Hours on end, I would practice with him in my room. Over and over again, trying to sync the records, finding the right beat in the music, getting the mixer under control… Getting frustrated when it didn’t work, but then pushing through because I didn’t want to stop until I got it right. As a 7-year-old, I struggled to find my place at school. I was bullied and had a hard time there. I didn’t want to go to school anymore; I wasn’t having fun. I had almost no friends and never hung out after school. As soon as I got home, I wanted to go straight to my room and practice DJing again.
At 10 years old (in 2017), it was time for my first booking. I was invited by the guys from Mainstage Maffia to DJ at Hakkuh 4 Kids in Aalsmeer. This opportunity led to my first real booking: Hakkuh 4 Kids 2018. During this event, I also met MC/DJ Remsy (Party Animals), which later led to me getting my first booking at a real hardcore party. In 2019, I made my debut at 'Thunderchurch.' Together with my dad, Highforce, I had the honor of opening Remsy’s birthday party. Not long after, I got my very first vinyl gig, again alongside Highforce, this time at Arina’s Leuke Oldschoolfeest in Willemeen. That same year, I also had my first international gig: Spontagnesoccer in Germany, once again B2B with Mainstage Maffia.
Bookings started to pick up slowly, but then came the coronavirus... During the lockdown, I started livestreaming a lot on Facebook. This led to a massive reach on social media, and eventually, I was approached by DJ Panic, who invited me to join his Start The Panic livestreams. The positive feedback from those streams resulted in many more bookings with Panic. During this time, I also had the chance to perform with MC Da Mouth Of Madness, doing a solo set as well as a special B2B set with my little brother. During the pandemic, I decided to try something new... and that’s when I became interested in producing. I spent hours behind my laptop, watching 10 YouTube videos a day to learn how to do things properly.
I was still in high school at the time, where I still hadn’t found my place. My clothes were different, my interests were different, I was different. I found it hard to process all of this. Because I struggled to talk about it, I started expressing my emotions through music, something I still do to this day. When I feel bad, angry, or sad, I often make dark industrial, artcore, or terror tracks. When I’m feeling better, I try to make something lighter and more melodic. As I spent more years producing, I became better at making tracks, which led to my first releases... And my bookings started improving too. In 2022, I was booked for the first time at a major festival, Rebirth Festival. I was lucky enough to play there in the following years as well. In 2023, alongside Rebirth, I had the opportunity to play at Defqon.1.
After working in silence on a major project for half a year, it was finally time for the big reveal. On February 4, 2024, Guido and I launched ‘New Testament Records.’ My very own record label! And to kick it off right, the first release was from none other than 'The Destroyer.' Since then, we’ve had a fair number of releases, and there’s much more to come. The bookings have also been great this past year, with highlights being Defqon.1, Dominator Festival, and prime-time Rebirth Festival (B2B with Vandal!sm).
I want to thank all of you for the amazing support you’ve given me. Without you, none of this would have been possible. Thank you!!
To everyone who said I wouldn’t make it, to everyone who said I should quit, to all the bullies… I’ll see you soon at the frontrow during my set.
