Shoutbox: [13-11] dannytoplesdj: I mean, this song is good, but it has a moment in the first part of the song where, between very nice beats, there is an interlude with a sound that doesn't sound very clear.

"A 'new-style' gabber set.

New Style was a slow, dark style of gabber that came around in the late 90's. Heavily inspired by the old Marc Arcadipane/PCP sound, with dark melody's and big kicks.

Hardcore, happy and 'gabber', had gone very boring in the late 90's. The 'gabber' side of things, hardcore techno, speedcore etc had gone too fast and industrial and didn't attract any new blood into the rave scene. So when New-Style Gabber came around, it made the harder music more danceable and easier to listen too, for the new generation of ravers.

There wasn't many people who played this style in the UK, that I was aware off. The only DJ's I personally heard play it, were Scott Brown, Bass Generator and Myself.

Bass Generator and I, played many 3 hour sets of this music at Judgement Day.

Enjoy !"
