And here it is....the start of the “dirty dozen” series!!!!!

This special series is to celebrate my 12th mix and there for I created this special series as a showcase for for the guys tracks in individual mixes!
first of all we kickoff with the main man, the gabberdisco “Gaffa”, The Speed freak!!!

If you still don’t know what gabberdisco is.....
“Gabberdisco is an over-the-top approach to hard dance-music: high-energy high-speed Hardtek
that combines elements and quotes from dancemusic and pop-culture of the 20th century with
the sound and the technical possibilities of today.
At a time when all established *core-styles have become color-by-numbers, our goal is to bring
back the fun and the pioneer-spirit from the early days.
Gabberdisco is about positive attitude, lots of content, and is made to put a smile on your face."

I asked him if could explain a little about the history and he sent me this.....

What is Gabberdisco ?

Gabberdisco to me is the bastard-child of Cycore and Shockwave, lying in a bed of Hardtek.
Somehow it is the essence of every style i have produced since i started 28 years ago.
Gabberdisco is about fun and positive vibes. The established styles take themselves too
serious in my opinion and thereby push themselves into a corner. Gabberdisco breaks out of
these limits - actually it does not repect any stylistic limits. I see it as a new kind
of Rave.


You have used the term "Gabberdisco" in the 1990s on Shockwave Recordings, so is it Oldschool ?

It is not oldschool because we use a modern sound as a basis. In our tracks you can hear old
elements combined with EDM-sounds of today. What we have in common with the old Gabberdisco-tracks
on Shockwave is the pioneer-spirit and the no-fucks-given-attitude.


Why did you choose to start with this "Style" now ?

Because i feel that something is missing in the currently established styles.
In my opinion popular styles like Uptempo are lacking content.
It might be nice for the "Bass-Purists", but to me it becomes boring after 30 minutes.
When listening to DJ-sets i prefer being put on a "rollercoaster-ride" with ups and downs,
loopings that mess with my brain, fun and tension. That is what Gabberdisco delivers.
