As some people might know I've had the big honour of playing Club r_AW together with one of my biggest all time heroes ; Rude Awakening (aka DJ Promo).
Many wonder how I managed to get on stage with such a legend, and the answer is quite simple ; Lots of passion and lots of guts. I had been attending the Club r_AW events for years, visiting 28 editions in total, and it has been a blast. Such intimacy in a party can ab-so-lutely be found nowhere. Typical dutch dances (polonaises) of 100 people through 3 levels, building towers of empty cups, the infamous afterparties at Burger King, 200 crazy people in a bus (300!) with people just woken up, getting ready for work, DJ's and fans mixed up together in the dancefloor and 'chillout' having chats, beers and hugs
Slowly but surely DJ's see your everlasting dedication, and you get to know eachother. Club r_AW came to an end, and I cried my heart out !
But like all good things can end, people crave for them. A reunion was imminent ! Incredible, for one more time all this love was gonna come back
r_AWunion got announced, and I asked for what I always had dreamt about ; Playing together with the master himself, the founder of such a great event. 3 e-mails later, and not even 2 weeks left i knew it was gonna happen ! Nothing this memorable in my life as being on that stage. Adrenaline running through my vains, and that volume ! WOOOHHHH !
Because of stress, adrenaline, a fucking wig, distraction and perfectionism I didn't feel satisfied about (my part of) our set (like all DJ's do in the end :P), but the idea was perfect ; Playing tracks of the beginning of Club r_AW.
That idea kept bugging me, so I decided to do this set at home
