UNKNWN was for a while a mysterious one man producer outlet for Burial-esque / beat / UK Bass / dubstep productions from Belfast producer Chris Hanna. Things however have changed and has since become so much of a more exciting flavour with Dublin singer songwriter Gemma Dunleavy adding her own glorious signature sound into what is now a fully formed band touring SXSW, Rough Trade USA, The Great Escape and more …. and I'm a big fan!
For this "On The Up" feature Chris goes solo and showcases the influences that well, influence UNKNWN. Tracks from EE favs and previous guests to the show, Loops Haunt, Om Unit and Juxta Position.
I basically wanted the mix to represent an UNKNWN Dj set – a bit of a dancefloor journey. From the more experimental side of things to just straight up house and techno, with the odd daft number thrown in for good measure. It's not all about the underground!"
