Shoutbox: [13-11] dannytoplesdj: I mean, this song is good, but it has a moment in the first part of the song where, between very nice beats, there is an interlude with a sound that doesn't sound very clear.

How is this industrial...

fixed genres.

No Darkstep?, this style is a "union" of D'n'B, Industrial and Hardcore.

No, its not.
javi_centralero -
I think that is Darkstep some producers as Lowroller, Homeboy and Igneon System. Fusion of D'n'B with Hardcore, this is Darkstep.

I think if anyone here can tell you what darkstep is, that would be me.

And no, what you describe has been dubbed 'crossbreed', a hybrid of hardcore with another genre, most notably dnb, but electro or dubstep is possible as well.

On lsdb the term darkstep is used inconsistently but in essence its a form of dnb more focussed on the dark (metalic) sounds and rampaging rhythms as opposed to dnb breaks. Example producers: current value, mystification, skull, forbidden society etc.

This liveset has tracks by Current Value and Forbidden Society. I think that Igneon System, Lowroller and Homeboy produce a hybrid of D'n'B with hard sounds typic in Hardcore, and this usually is called as Darkstep. I think that Darkstep is a very hybrid style, with a mix of many sounds: D'n'B, Hardcore, Industrial, also with breakcore in the actual style of I:GOR, etc...

The less you seem to know, the more you seem to talk. Why is this?

It's backwards!

Homeboy Lowroller Igneon system have no place in the darkstep genre

Homeboy : He tends to base his production on hiphop breakbeats and uptempo hardcore techno (also known as UK HC)

Igneon : Same as the above

Lowroller : Also known as DJ D-Tox (frenchcore'ish stuff with komprex), pretty much always produces around 178-185 bpm, not much varation in rythms but a unique style, uses some drum'n bass influences here and there but mainly relies on core kicks.

And just because there is a producer who produces Darkstep in a Tracklist does not mean it's darkstep not every song by Current Value or Forbidden Society is darkstep.

Derelict
Optic Nerve is pretty darksteppish as well :P

But as others said, all that Nekrolog1k stuff is crossbreed, even then it's mostly just straight hardcore.

Drum and Bass + Hardcore = Brokencore

Darkstep: Heavy drums with dark atmosphere!

Ignorant, Current Value and Forbidden Society are Darkstep producers. You must to open your eyes, and also your ears ;)

Heavy drums typic in Hardcore with D'n'B sound, this is DARKSTEP, this is my viewpoint, although also there are industrial hardcore sound with D'n'B, or mainstream hardcore with D'n'B, all this is Darkstep.

Then, Igneon System produce the same that Hellfish and The DJ Producer?, UK Hardcore?, it's not the same!!, this is a good example of it. Darktep is D'n'B with kicks or drums very near to Hardcore, also influences of Breakcore, this is very notable with I:GOR. This liveset has many darkstep sounds, there are not mainstream hardcore (this can not to be the same, Evil Activities, that Igneon System, for example, it's different Hardcore). In the same way that there are many types of Hardcore, also with Darkstep, there is more near to D'n'B and otherwise (more near to Hardcore). There are not any universal type of Hardcore, Industrial, Darkstep... so that there are many type of all it, is a idea that you have that understand, there are many ways ;)

You throw in Hellfish into your "UK Hardcore" argument. Hellfish = Hellfish, his style is not even something to put a name on.

Igneon System produce a D'n'B with many hardcore sounds, this is Darkstep. UK Hardcore = D'n'B + Breakcore + hard kick or bass.

So you'd call Endymion - Smash darkstep too?

'Sm0keythebandit'... you are very brave insults behind a screen, COWARD!. You think that know much, but you only are a poor imbecil!!, You insult because know that I have reason about it

'Smash' sound more about Hardcore, tune and kick very typic of mainstream hardcore. Igneon System is Hardcore en its rame more near to D'n'B, Industrial & Breakcore, this is typic of Darkstep (D'n'B with hard kick and industrial/breakcore sounds).

agreed, another terms for that is Drumcore and Core & Bass (Lowroller calls himself so :P)
so this set is D&B/HC aka Drumcore aka Brokencore aka Core & Bass as SANA label itself now ;)
this is clearly not a drkstp set, let's get over it now
since discussion may get futher and some ppl will discover that for example CV is may be even Technoid/Techstep etc,so let's stick to general D&B tag for broken beats tracks in this particular set aight? =D
personally i don't stick to that terms and get used to just 3 types of DnB - heavy, mid, and lite :p
