Haha! So you can buy their tracks to put in mixes, but if you do you can't put your mixes online to get it known by the crowd. Experience learns when you actually give out free mixes, you sell more tracks because you actually make them known to a somewhat bigger client base that do pay for your tracks. You should tell them that.

you are lucky to have the comprehension of ISR as they sent you a message. otherwise they could simply click on the "report copyright infrigement" button and simply blocked your Soundcloud ...

maybe they looked and listen to your work... could be a first step for your work to approach ISR...my adivce dont fight it cause they are right on their rights

there's something called "public domain" in movies art. but it takes long, not sure if 80?? years or more, for a art piece (movie) loose the copyright and become "public domain" .. but not a short 20 years period.

i think also all this new amateur dj's who by music on hardstye.com, or other online or physical shops... forgot to read the back cover of their CD's/Vinyl ... they are buying private copies ... and they cant play them on a big party or even radio...

that's why when i read on twitter or Facebook... artists (hs and hc) , talking about a new track ... and sending the MP3/WAV to their DJ friends ... that means a track with no copyright , no label ... pure promo ...friends exclusive .

that's why they play always the same stuff ... even the big names, can't go to a shop and buy music to play it live ..and make money with it cause that would be illegal...

according to Soundcloud guide lines ... if HHZ doesnt have permission from Zedd to do that remix and plublish it online, Zedd or a simple user can report "copyright infrigement" and block HHZ soundcloud account, (a block on the new uploads).

it's the same when you buy a DVD copy of Batman The Dark Knight , you ll have a private copy to play at home, for you, your family , friends... but you cant play it as a VJ mixed with music in a Defqon1 festival ... for thousands ppl ...

what's the point to pay for tracks and not play em? for private pleasure? oh please music industry is a waste industry producing waste,so there is really no point,what if i'm not a listener but i like mixing so i mix stuff i might not even like,that gives me more joy then rather being just a listener or so,so what,where is the crime really?

i think i'll leave it there since i no longer wish to be justifying any points,even though i did a "wrong thing" by their considering they could've asked for it nicely not demand,even though i did waht i was asked for futher claims not my responsibility really
