Another name for darkstep. Darkstep is more commonly accepted though. Just like hardcore is called gabber sometimes, multiple names for the same thing.

also gabber and mainstream hardcore differ a lot, sometimes mainstream hc is referred to be called nu style gabber, but it's not same genre as oldschool gabber or gabba even, those are 3 different terms in fact :W

"Skullstep is a genre that emerged from techstep. While originally it was a derisive moniker for techstep itself (much like clownstep), it is currently used to designate a certain style within the genre: Skullstep follows the instrumentation of techstep, it is characterized by a much more repetitive, aggressive song structure with similarities to Breakcore - the original Skullstep drumloop, pioneered by Limewax, got looped at a dotted quarter beat length. This allows the drumloop to remain syncopated, but achieve a repetitive sound resemblant to hardcore techno. Artists prominent in this genre include Current Value, Donny, Dylan, Limewax, Gein, SNM, The Panacea, Axis & Trank."

so who is expert in here mf? :p

dude he's still messing with u, but the fact is that there's such a minor difference between it that it's not worth a different tag

Yet the wiki (lol) you bring up to support your point does, which says enough about the credibility of your source.

Check the darkstep page of the wiki and look at the artists. Now compare those to that skullstep nonsense. See where im going with this?

Skullstep is another name for darkstep, its therefore not worthy of a tag and your whole attempt at discussion is pointless.

Wiki is a horrible source as any uninformed individual such as yourself can edit it.

ok whatever but I agree that skillstep is worthless to have a tag infact maybe only drumstep does, since other step based genres are being represented in tag field already, but drumstep much differ from wither dnb or dubstep,so may worth a separated tag

:S What have I done? Well at least now I have some clarification with the genres...

How about seperate tags for Ambient and Dark Ambient, no more Moombahton (Seriously, it's only slowed down Dirty Dutch or a standard Reggeaton beat), and/or a tag to differentiate Acid House (Mid-80s) and Acid Techno (Early 90s), or would the two just fall under Acid/Oldschool in general?

acid, oldschool is fine for that, people can figure it out. moombahton wasn't my idea and don't know about ambient/dark ambient split.

Surly that would fit under 'Techtrance'?
Same as Hard Dance. Just another name for Hardtrance.

Too many genres to pick from on here anyway. I wouldn't know the difference between half of them! There is this new one called 'Moonbatone' or something. Kev Willow explains what it is in one of his production videos and its basically slowed down house. Then all these up tempo genre like, Splittercore, Speedcore, Frenchcore etc. I can't tell the difference.
