Hello hello,

Let's start with: there is nothing illegal about the topic i'm making here

For Christmas i bought a little external device for my little brother so he could start practicing his "dj-skills" haha. Just wanted to introduce him in the world of dj-ing. It's called the ION Discover DJ. A simple panel with some jogs on it and a crossfader.

It comes with some software, but i want him to use Virtual DJ for it because that's a bit more related to the real devices then the software thats included. When i try to map the functions with virtual dj to the device it's not working as i want it to. The crossfader is inverse, the jogs aren't working, and for some reason it can't separate the bass, mid and treble faders to both sides.

So.. after some research (googling), i found a little addon for it on the website for it, but my license doesn't allow it (Since you need a license to download plugins aswell). I have a legal license (since my dad bought that part for my brother) and allready mailed the "crew" of virtual dj. They said i didn't do it the proper way? Like wtf I'm not a complete retard. It just doesnt work.

So to safe me a lot of time maybe one of you have a license for it, wich works , it would be great if you could send me the plugin for it. This is the plugin i was talking about: http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/10329/ION_Discover_DJ_Def___Mapper.html

Simply download VDJ from WEB use Traktor or Ableton it;s better

search loads on youtube and it can tell you how to do it on that and gives you a totorial video!.....

just use CDJ's & Vinyl

and a mixer!

Well, guess i have to do it with that.

The device was a present for my brother, and although i really like him, i'm not spending more then 50 euro's on him Second, i know virtual dj is " " , but there is no other choise in my situation. O and, don't worry, i know about all the points your crapping out here, i have my own setup here at home

So when ill make a topic about what i should NOT buy for dj-ing, ill ask you guys. I probably get more awnsers. Thanks

I'm in the same boat.

Aside from the included Cross software (that blows shit chunks) VDJ is the first developer to offer native support for IDDJ.

The only problem is that it's a complete afterthought and they won't even allow you to demo it out. You have to buy the program first. That simply is not going to happen.

The Ion is a very new product. but since it has the widest distribution of any DJ midi controller it's only a matter of time till other developers get on the ball.,

Mixvibes could have easily made more money if they just added native support for the IDDJ to Mixvibes 7...so much for their "partnership" with Ion.

i figured out some keybindings/mappings for it, only the jogwheel(s) seems to ignore the command. Wich is seriously fucked up. Also the crossfader is inverted, but that was allready an issue on the VDJ forums aswell. But thats also fixed, in some way?!
