Liveset discussion / Seeking Expert Advice/opinions

Greetings Party People!

I have been given the task of filling up 7 hours of music for a New Year's event (not a club event) and I just wanted to get some feedback from the adepts of this forum. I am not a DJ but can mix not too bad and figured the easiest thing to do would be to just mix hour-long livesets together (it's understood by everyone that there isn't a live DJ).

So I want to build some nice momentum with a good climax and denouement and this is what I've come up with:

1st hour - acid house
2nd hour - techno
3rd hour - hard trance
4th hour - dark psytrance
5th hour - dark psytrance/industrial
6th hour - psytrance
7th hour - dubtech/ambient

how does that look? Criticism more than welcome as i've not done this before. Also specic sets to recommend would be a great added bonus!

you may want to go slow to hard as in

5th hour - dark psytrance/industrial
6th hour - psytrance
then dubstep lol

and the like of hard trance beeing hour 3

and are you talking about industrial hardcore or that rave metal

also were is hardstlye/hardcore

I was talking Industrial Hardcore. I'm thinking of going Early Hardstyle now instead for that hour. Yes, Dubstep is a good option too--I might add that at the end.

4/6 Hours i can take if u need i knew how to make good Dark Psy-Trance Party or simply full-on if need

You guys are funny! Everybody has their preferences and I even like the newer Hardstyle. The people coming to this party are not as experienced and I was told specifically no new Hardstyle or Happy Hardcore. So I thought Early Hardstyle would be able to sneak in the backdoor (knowmsayin?)

Now that you fine Gentleman have enlightened me as to the non-existence EHS I suppose I have no recourse but to substitute Schranz

I'd be glad to hire you for next year's event--this is sort of a preliminary run. Next year we'll need some real DJs for sure and I will hold you to it!

happy hardcore set with hardstyle ..oh man that's fuckd up ... they must only listen to Hhz etc
